Due to the increasing popularity of HDTV, LED televisions and LCD machines there has been a significant increase in the number of shady retailers trying to sell an HDMI cable that's clearly not professionally made and capable of translating information and data properly. It will be easy to see if a cable isn't correctly calibrated since the picture quality on a digital television will be quite substandard and may even be so bad it looks like the grainy reception from a television that's got a pair of rabbit ears on the top so it can connect to local television stations.
